Wonderfully Wicked

I think this collab is AWESOME and yet it was very difficult for me to work with! How frustrating is that?? Most of the embellishments are really fun vintagey stuff. Spooky vintagey! Alas, my pint-sized Buzz Lightyear was difficult to feature that way.

Look how fun!! Aren't the colors fantastic? Just a couple of years ago I considered orange and black to be the only colors of Halloween, but look how awesome these colors are! I love them. AND, you can join in the challenge here at Ahhh Scrap for a chance to win next month's collaboration free.

Playing with circles for CIRCLERAMA!

Just messing around in my Slap Journal (that's the new term for CTJ, we'll see if it sticks). I used that GIANT bubble wrap for the dark green "circles". The other ones I just cut out and stuck on there. I like the red and yellow against the green, but I think there needs to be more red on the page. Where, though? Not sure. OO! Red circle roses?? With little green leaves! We'll see...

I really like having "partial" girls but...

This one doesn't like being less than a whole person :(

Failed project AND failed page!

Couldn't make the eyes look right, but I VERY rarely "go back" to a journal page like people always talk about doing. Once I turn the page and move on, I'm not going back!

The cage is a shelter

It says "some days the cage is a comfort, a shelter in the storm". Going back to school scares me. Right now I live in a little bubble where Tim works, I stay home with Mini Me, we're surviving. But going back to school has made me HAPPY. I feel like me again. I hate staying home...and yet I'm having nightmares about not being able to pay off students loans and things like that...I just have to believe I can do it.

Kelly's and blah

So, the other day I was supposed to go to school and print something but instead I went to Kelly's! We hung out, had JimmyJohn's (we didn't freak) and made a journal bag. I painted a little in my CTJ, drew a silly girl in pen on the paper that Kelly covers my workspace with (I'm sloppy). I've been playing with these two pages for a couple of days and they just make me happy! The girl on the right is drawn with blue glaze pen and while she's not perfect, I like her. I wrote about my day in her "shirt" and gave her a date. (We didn't go to Smashburger, by the way.) I LOVE journaling like this. Whatever goes through my head hits the page. Good times.

And because I've enjoyed the process, I usually end up liking the page, even if it's ugly.

October Challenge

I, Ariana, CT girlie, challenge you, world, to scrap your bad photos. That's right - the blurry ones. The ones were you were just about to snap the cutest picture ever but the baby/toddler/teenager turned away at the last second and all you got was the back of their head. The smile that turned to a frown or tears. The ones that started as a frown or tears. The ones where your loved one suddenly flung their hand up to hide their face. The ones you keep on your computer but have no intention of ever using. Dig them out. Let's see 'em.

Challenge details: it will be for the month of October 2011, the layout must be at least 75% Kat's Creations products, and the winner will get a $10 to her shop.

Here's one of mine:
The picture is HORRIBLY blurry, but look at his little face!! I LOVE the look on his face. It was too cute to hide on my computer forever. For this layout I used Backyard BBQ, a collaboration by Kat's Creations and Trish H Designs and Backyard BBQ Templates by Kat's Creations.
