I do this all the time - sprays all these super fun, pretty pages. They're cut to my favorite journal size. But now what? I want to bind them into a journal and then USE IT. But usually when I'm sitting with itchy fingers and I want to draw, I want a blank page. I LIKE the blank page. I enjoy violating its purity with my grubby pencil.
And when I look at these pages them make me want to collage and sew on them and all kinds of stuff, which is much harder to do if they're all bound together. So do I leave them loose? Because then they usually just sit in a pile until I bind them and then don't use them. I'm going to try and use them. Starting today. Right now. I'll put one in my backpack to doodle on while I'm at school, like my CTJ. Or maybe I should bind them and use them as my new CTJ all together? Or is the binding what makes me not use them? Dilemmas!
I would draw, write, etc. on them and then put them together. I use to take cardboard, ply boards, poster paper or some type of thick paper, punch holes (like 3 hole punch) and then attach everything together with string, yarn, fastners (office supply store) or ribbon. I still have about 3 of my journals from high school. I would draw something on my covers or paint them. Fun times!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to make them into a Soul Garden planner...I'm not sure. Maybe not. See how I get all confused??
DeleteThat's me wishy-washy...wishy-washy!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a weakness for pretty papers. I could buy every stack of scrapbook paper at Michaels just to look at and pet.
ReplyDeleteMy friend Kelly has literally thousands of scrapbook papers. Those shelves they have at Michael's to hold the papers? Kelly has those in her art room where she keeps single sheets, and a whole closet filled with paper pads and packs. It's truly amazing!
DeleteI wish you were closer...or postage wasn't so freaking expensive. Then you could have fun with this part and make mini journals for my kiddo's to use when I need them. I know...it's a selfish idea but still. You're so crafty and creative and make such fun starter pages. I think the kiddo's would like them.
ReplyDeleteNext time we hang, we'll make some together :)
