Mindy Lacefield-style. Sort of. Here's a page that's just ballpoint pen in a couple of colors.
This is pen and then several different markers:
A little paint-y chaos over it:
Then a couple of faces:
People:
I can't make Mindy people. I don't know why, but I can NOT get a good perspective with people trying to draw them in her style. Can't. Maybe I'll keep working on it, but the odds are slim!
I'm clueless about the Mindy style, but i do so love writing out the carp and covering it all up with paint and faces. Whenever I do that, the faces sort of look at the world from the page and say "Remember all that stuff I'm covering up? No? GOOD! My work here is done"
I find cover-up journaling a wonderful tool especially when I don't want ANYONE to read it and also when I don't want to go back and read it either. Terry Tempest Williams (author of When Women were Birds) talks about this style of journaling. I wish I could remember what she calls it.
Wonderful page! And I love the figures and their faces!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about not making Mindy's style people, but these people are adorable.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great about getting stuff out and then covering it all up? Awesome work!!
