Banana juice?

I still think that when you put a banana in a blender you get banana mush, not juice - even thought I've DRANK strawberry banana juice...

When I was at Kelly's, she gave me some paper I asked her to get for me WEEKS ago. It's for a new cartoon journal! Ajae thinks the word "cartooning" is kind of insulting, but I like it.

These are the covers, I took the picture for Kelly because I was super excited that night when I was making it.
Here it is all put together!
This is me, picturing myself trying to make banana juice. (This is what grocery shopping is like for me. I get all confused and wander around thinking about how to juice a banana and then forget what I was there for in the first place.)
I used the pieces for my journal cover! It's pretty damn cute if I do say so myself!! I always wonder about journal covers - is a piece of paper enough to cover it? Should I paint it? But this time I LOVE it!
The inside pages are 90 pound Fabriano Artistico drawing paper. It works so beautifully with my copics.

Still playing catch-up!

These are my 2/3 and 2/4 pages. I really want to be able to be drawing the previous day's page today. Then spend one day a week adding color, or add it when I'm having one of those Indigo days.

I added some words to the blank panels but this pic was before that! I made red sauce, a friend came over to play video games, we went to Smash Burger (it just opened in EP), and then to the DQ for a mini-blizzard.

This is the day Suzi asked me, Ajae, and Kelly to be her Design Team for Unity stamps.

February Comic Book...

I made this new journal with three different types of paper - two for copic markers and one Fabriano drawing paper. I'm still trying to figure out what papers work with copic markers.
I haven't colored them yet, so I don't have any opinion on that part yet! I've just been trying to "make up" for the days I missed while I was in California. I'm only on 2/3 and it's 11pm on 2/5...

How come no one told me there's a Gina K. paper that copics don't bleed through? I wanna try some, but I don't want to get a pack of 25 sheets in case it STINKS. Gotta try to find it locally!

Resolutions

I don't make them. Ever. They would really just be another thing to make myself feel bad about because I'm not good at habits. I don't have any addictions, there is absolutely nothing that I do every single day except brush my teeth. I have no rituals, there is nothing that I "can't leave home without" - I often forget my cell phone, keys, camera. But I decided this year to make one:
Kelly challenged me to do a page a day, so I'm going to try...I mean I'm going to do it. In the words of Yoda "Do or do not. There is no try." That's my 1/1/11 page. :)

And I've decided that instead of Manga, I'm just going to draw my day as a comic book in whatever way makes me happy. Manga is kind of serious because the Japanese are very serious people as a whole. Also, I HATE the way they make eyes. If you want to just draw a smudge of a nose and a line for a mouth, that's fine, but I want to add color to my pages and Manga eyes are open lines. I've been trying to make eyes Manga-ish but closing the lines and it just hasn't been working for me. So I'm going a different way for now and maybe I'll be ready to draw Manga later.Oh, one more thing (I swear!). Here's December's calendar all filled out:I don't have January's ready yet, but I'll post it when I do! I'm trying to wait for my next play date with Kelly. Instead of using patterned paper, we're planning to paint our own paper and cut it up for the days!
